Trust me, CHIA jam is definitely at par with your grandma’s, and waaay better than the nasty stuff you find at grocery stores. I’ve eliminated all the processed white sugar, and loaded this recipe with FIBRE, PROTEIN and OMEGA 3’s. Plus, it literally takes minutes to make.
Grab some fresh or frozen berries of your choice, toss them in a small sauce pan on the stove top over medium heat, and mash & stir until your berries are a melted, mooshy texture. Then turn off the burner and squeeze in your desired amount of honey for added sweetness. (I used Manuka for it’s additional medicinal properties).
From there, transfer the berry mixture into a small bowl and add chia seeds. I only made one small jar of jam so I just added about 1/4 cup of chia seeds. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to allow the chia seeds to gelatinize. Keep adding chia if jam is still too watery.
Donezo. Now it’s time to eat up jammerz! Slap some jelly on gf toast, pancakes, or make a parfait with coconut yogurt… chia jam on everythaaang.
(Quit refined sugar — Doooo it.)
